Congratulations! You have the ring and set the date, but now what?
Your probably want a quick and easy answer so here it is!
Hiring the right vendors to capture and make your ultimate dream-come-true is ESSENTAIL. As a 7 year wedding photographer and videographer here is the list of what you need to do next to make sure you get everything you want out of your day. This list in order is what I have seen work best for my clients!
1. Set a budget - Get on the same page with your partner, parents, and anyone helping you pay for the day. It was relieve a lot of budget confusion and narrow down your vendor searches.
2. Day of wedding coordinator or wedding planner - Hire a person that you want to be your bff for the next year! Have full trust in your planner, look at reviews and testimonials and don't book if you see any red flags! They will give you all the tools to use and can pull strings for you in your following vendor booking processes.
3. Book a venue - Venues have waiting lists, sell out years before the event, and cost a lot of $$$. Most of your budget will go to the right venue. Sometimes your date might change based on your venue's availability.
4. Book a photographer and/or videographer - Never settle for a photographer/videographer. A lot of your budget will be from the venue and your creative team. Reach out to one creative at a time and inquire with them how they specify on the website or Instagram. Look at their packages and guides and make sure it's the right fit for you! Creatives book out a year to 18 months in advanced. so you might have to have a few options if your first choice doesn't work out.
5. Florist - Florists are just as busy as creative vendors! Heck! they are a creative vendor. They will need to know way ahead of time what their orders will look like as well as time management planning. And a lot of Pinterest planning for your bouquet!
6. Catering - Caterers and catering companies have some wiggle room with dates and availability. They typically have large teams and have multiple events a day. Don't wait too long to get the right caterer for you, but you will probably have more time!
There are so many other small vendors to book, but those are based on preferences. For example a bar tender and wedding assistant teams. That's why it's good to have a budget to know what other vendors you can have for your big day!
I hope this helps you plan your 2023 wedding!
All the best!
Em
